A Moko Jumbie Barracuda Virtue was recently unveiled at the St. Croix Educational Complex High School as part of an initiative of the school’s Fine Arts Department focus group to bring focus to important virtues the school has adopted, according to Assistant Principal Ms. Debbie Colbourne-Thomas.

Teachers in the Fine Arts Department put out a challenge to the other teachers to come up with a first moko jumbie virtue design.  The contest was judged by the school's art teachers. The winning entry, “Integrity,” was conceived by English teacher, Anika Johnson.  Art teachers Dwydale Dariah and Danica David produced the artwork from Ms. Johnson’s design, while 12th grader Evin Benjamin served as their model.

“The integrity virtue will be posted prominently on the campus,” Colbourne-Thomas pointed out during the unveiling of the artwork on May 20.  “We will be posting more Moko Jumbie Barra Virtues around the campus that we want our students and staff to emulate here at the Complex.”
